Yeah, I've been working on this game for a pretty long time now... give or take three years. Two of those years were procrastination. But enough of that, let's get to the good stuff.
Screenshots
NOTE: Some of these are pretty old, so expect some blandness.

The very first part of the first level. Looks like your standard Mario level, eh?

Let's start your basic power-up arsenal with everyone's favorite Fire Flower.

There will be lots of Star Coins to seek out. Will they contribute towards anything important? We'll find out soon enough.

Luigi's coming along for the ride as well. Of course, he jumps higher and has poorer traction than his brother.

The five Toads of assorted colors will show up in various levels to lend a hand. This ranges from giving you items, seeking out Star Coins, and --once in a blue moon-- assisting you with taking out certain bosses.

...and to keep things fresh, gimmicks like these will pop up every now and then.
...and to keep things even fresher, you won't be seeing a lot of these boring grassland levels!
Features
- Traverse across eight (or nine?) large worlds in the Mushroom Kingdom, while finding pieces of the dismantled Star Rod (more on that later). No princess saving here, folks... at least not yet anyway.
- Familiar power-ups will return, like the obligatory Fire Flower, the long-absent Cape Feather, and the then-overpowered (but now nerfed improved upon) Blue Shell. There won't be a lot of classic power-ups though; there will be some new ones as well...!
- The ability to play as Mario or Luigi, each with different abilities ala Lost Levels.
- Many secrets to find, like Star Coins and alternate exits (that's right, there's going to be an SMW-esque map in this).
Demo? Pretty please?
I've completely finished working on World 1 and a good portion of World 2... as well as some random levels from various worlds; all that's left is bosses and cutscenes and all that fun stuff. Plus, there's also bugs I have to fix before I release a demo of some sort (don't wanna rush and release a crappy game). If you're really curious as to how this game looks in motion, I will upload a gameplay video eventually once I figure out how to get better sound with my recording software.
Anyways, C+C and suggestions are appreciated; I'll need all the help I can get.
