Today, Nintendo held their first of two E3 conferences. Today's revolved around their new system, the Wii U. As always, Nintendo had many new titles to reveal, such as Pikmin 3 and Nintendo Land. Of course, our favorite plumber was not left behind, with Nintendo announcing several new Mario titles for fans to enjoy, such as New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Game & Wario and the previously unnamed Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.

New Super Mario Bros. U: A new, side-scrolling adventure featuring Mario, Luigi, Toad and your Mii character! Step inside the Mushroom Kingdom and explore new worlds, new power-ups and new ways to play.

New Super Mario Bros. 2: Bowser has once again kidnapped Princess Peach, but this time, Mario has another objective. The Mushroom Kingdom is bursting with more gold coins than ever, and it's up to players to collect as many as possible.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star: On the day of the annual Sticker Fest, Bowser decides to pull a prank and scatters six Royal Stickers across the land. To retrieve these mysterious, magical stickers, which are now stuck onto Bowser and his underlings, Mario sets off on an adventure with Kersti, a sticker fairy, visiting prairies, deserts, forests, snowy mountains and volcanoes around the world.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon: Follow Luigi as he explores multiple mansions, solves a variety of new puzzles and captures new ghosts. Armed with the new Poltergust 5000, Luigi must complete a number of missions assigned to him by Professor E. Gadd.

Game & Wario: A return to the long-running WarioWare series, Game & Wario (working title) features a collection of games that use only the Wii U GamePad controller.

Along with these new games, there were several other nods to the Mario series throughout the presentation. One of which was from Nintendo Land, a game following in the style of Wii Sports and Wii Play. The game will feature various subgames based off of different Nintendo franchises, such as Donkey Kong's Crash Course and Luigi's Ghost Mansion, based off of Donkey Kong and Luigi's Mansion respectively. As well, New Super Mario Bros.'s Mega Mushroom made a surprise appearance in Namco Bandai's trailer for Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Don't forget to tune into tomorrow's 3DS conference at 6pm PST!

I'm not too interested in having two more New Super Mario Bros. games; I'd rather have another full-3D game. The one for Wii U looks nice, though, and I like that they're bringing in different types of Yoshi. The Squirrel Suit is interesting too, I guess, but in a "where did that come from" way. I'm not as interested in the NSMB for 3DS, since I've got plenty of other games that I could buy for that system, but hopefully it'll be good.

Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion are the games that I'm most interested in. I've liked the other games in those series, and it'll be cool to have them on a handheld. I'm hoping that there will be more partners than just the sticker fairy in PM, though. Luigi's Mansion looks great so far; I'm curious about the "Dark Moon" title. I suppose that'll have something to do with the plot?

Game & Wario also looks good, and I like the idea of only using the GamePad as the controller. Apparently it'll be a launch title, too--we won't need to wait a year or two to see how it goes.

*flips over several tables*
Why is it that every other conference was 1.5 hours and Nintendo was only 1 hour. Anyways, i'm generally pleased with what I saw from Nintendo today. I am questions a few things though.

First, why did they decide to push out another NSMB game so suddenly for the 3DS? Maybe not all that sudden since some people already knew of it (they brought it to the public eye at the investors meeting a few months back), but i'm really not sure what to expect out of it. I feel it may have been somewhat rushed and it makes me question if I should even pick it up.

Second, what's with some of the subtitles? Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon? That just sounds kind of odd. Paper Mario: Sticker Star even sounds a little off, though not as bad since it has clear relation to the plot. I like the name Game & Wario though, even if it is just a working title. lol

Finally, I feel like the focused far too much on the software. Software makes the hardware. I get that. But they were too focused on the GAMES. They needed to show some more of how the Wii U software was going to work. And don't give me the bit about how they showed some more focus on that Sunday because it was still somewhat vague. Maybe i'm just too picky though. I want more information about what Wii U is going to have to offer. And maybe a priceline? A relative price? COME ON!

I'm tired and grumpy. Goodnight. MOAR! D=<

In case any of you missed the Wii U launch date, it will be this holiday season. Most likely during Black Friday or near Christmas.
