So I was curious: how often do you use the shops on Nintendo systems, like the eShop and Wii Shop Channel?
I've barely used any of them, so I'm also wondering how that compares to other people. At first, I didn't use the shops because getting the money together was difficult; times have definitely changed, but I still don't have much interest in them. I'm more likely to download apps for my phone (although that doesn't happen much either), since I carry the phone around more than the 3DS (and the Wii doesn't see much use, either). And a download for that is usually cheaper.
Getting Paper Mario on the Wii was one of the best things I've done with that system, though.
I blew a ton of money on the Virtual Console from around 2007 to 2010, there were a lot of NES and SNES games that I wasn't born in time to play, so I had a great time getting caught up with all those classics. I've bought pretty much everything I want from the Virtual Console at this point, and given the slow - almost stagnant - flow of good games to the Virtual Console lately, I haven't been using it quite as much. Last thing I got was Super Metroid in July.
I haven't found myself using the eShop as much, but I've still purchased around 5 GameBoy titles from it since I purchased a 3DS.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as Sgt. Fly here. I use the Shops mostly for getting the games I wasn't able to play before. Occasionally there will be something new I'll want from them, like Pushmo or Mega Man 9, but for the most part, I stick to the Virtual Console.
Since I'm flat broke and can't afford Wii/DS points, I only use the Nintendo Shops for like demos and stuff. Played Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure on the DSi until the trial ended back in February. It's a good addition to the Nintendo consoles and franchise.
