The first and original Super Mario Brothers television show, each episode consists of two segments: A live action sketch with Lou Albano as Mario and Danny Wells as Luigi, residing in their Brooklyn plumbing shop, and then the animated Mario cartoon segement. The show first began airing in 1989. During the show's air, the Mario cartoon's time slot would be replaced by a Legend of Zelda cartoon every Friday.
VHS tapes of the show were released throughout 1989 to 1991. Volume 1 of the DVD set was released on March 28, 2006 and Volume 2 was later released on October 31, 2006.
